October 2019
The chapter attended the Nashua Valley Railroad Association train show and sale over the weekend of October 5-6, 2019 held at the Boxboro Regency Hotel in Boxboro, Massachusetts. This was the chapter’s first time appearing as a guest of the NVRA at their annual RailFair show and our offerings generated much interest. As is typically the case, ETE-ENE was the rarity among American railroad enthusiasts, but our presence proved to be intriguing. Below are a few of the pictures taken during the event.
The event opened on a beautiful Saturday morning at the Boxboro Regency Hotel. Attendance was expected to be brisk.
Prior to the show opening to the public, much work had to be done to erect the modules, tie them all together, and test out the electronics. Above, Chris Koellmer, Mark Mervine and Michael Haire make final adjustments to the electronics and scenery.
The European themed merchandise available for purchase is lined up alongside of our layout; a feature popular with attendees since fewer and fewer retailers exist.
The layout, with its new LED lighting and CS3 control station, readied for the show opening.
Member Alex Leonard’s small portable layout proved to be a draw for the younger generation and parents alike.
