Club member Chris Hartman has been collecting Marklin trains and scenery for some time and is in the process of enhancing his home layout presently. Chris started his layout in California while working there and has moved it “back east” for further work at his new home. He operates his layout using original analog electronics and acquires most of his locomotives and rolling stock at estate sales and from dealers at local train shows. Two overall views of his layout follow:

Chris takes much pride in his collection of early structures, such as an operating Marklin crane and turntable show below. Also in the picture is a Volkswagen factory with several new vehicles in their original colors, waiting for delivery to their dealerships.

He also has a vintage Faller cardboard (not plastic) train station that has a prominent place on the layout. An original analog German E03 electric locomotive is leading a passenger rake as it pulls up to the station;
A town full of active people, vehicles and animals is also included. Horses are on the loose as townspeople help to restore order! On a hill overlooking the city, a wedding is taking place at the local church.

A vintage swiss “crocodile” is shown pulling a load of tank cars through the mountains, an easy task for the iconic, powerful locomotive.
